Dean of the VUL School of Business and Professor of Behavioral Science & Management has focused on only teaching adults for over two decades. His academic and applied research experience includes professorships and research appointments in the behavioral and social sciences at several major U.S. universities, and service as dean & chief academic officer of a medical school. He has directed social & behavioral research on corporate business, R&D management, and social topics for the State of Connecticut. He also served in the federal government in the U.S. Department of State and the U.S, Department of Defense's Office of Scientific Research. Dr. LeCompte has served on numerous national task forces on management of health services, adult education, and services for disabled persons. In international business, Dr. LeCompte has been president of a joint venture company in China, managing director of a multi-national corporation in Hong Kong, a consultant on business development to both U.S. and domestic companies in China and the Middle East. Dr. LeCompte's domestic business experience includes service as a research coordinator on R&D special projects at General Dynamics Corporation, and consulting on small/medium business development. Dr. LeCompte earned his B.A. at the University of Washington, did graduate work at Harvard and Boston Universities, and received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at American University in Washington, D.C. He subsequently earned a Ph.D. degree in the applied behavioral sciences at Case Western Reserve University, and received a M.D.(hc) degree in behavioral medicine from the Academy of Chinese Medicine, Ministry of Health, in Beijing, China. He is a diplomate and Fellow in behavioral medicine, and is certified in the management of health services. His over 90 publications and international/national presentations span a broad spectrum of topics in planning and management. Dr. LeCompte has been a guest lecturer at universities across the globe, and listed in editions of Who's Who in the East, Midwest, and West; American Men & Women of Science; Who is Publishing in Science-International Directory; International Who's Who of Medicine; and other international reference directories.
