VUL is accredited with a variety of programs organized in three schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Management, and the School of Religion. For those of you who are interested in learning at home, there are many fields of study through the Distance Learning Program.

G.W. Hayes School of Arts and Sciences
The mission of the G.W. Hayes School of Arts and Sciences is to prepare individuals for careers in law, education, journalism, the ministry and other fields. In addition to associate and bachelor’s degrees, the G.W. Hayes School of Arts and Sciences offers two certificate programs through which ministers and lay people can increase their knowledge and improve their level of competency in the ministry.

School of Management
The mission of the School of Management is to prepare individuals to succeed in a highly competitive, technologically advanced and global society. The programs offered by the School of Management promote the mission of the university―self-help and interdependence―and provide students an education that is both theoretically and entrepreneurial based.

School of Religion
The mission of the School of Religion is to educate and train ministers, missionaries and teachers for careers in the church, mission field and other ministries. Distance Learning Program
The mission of the Distance Learning Program is to give students who cannot attend classes at one of VUL’s teaching locations or on the main campus in Lynchburg the opportunity to advance their education and enrich their lives through scholarly pursuits.
VUL embraces lifelong learning in its traditional and non-traditional programs. Distance learning students with military experience may receive credit for prior training and experience. Students also may be eligible for credits based on professional certifications, technical training, national examinations, and documentation for other college-level learning.
